I tried to see how many Tinder guys would send me a dick pic

In a world where us ladies (and dudes) have the privilege of being able to see a penis without leaving the comfort of our own rooms, I thought I would reactivate my tinder account to investigate just how much it takes in order for a stranger to send you a picture of their junk.

Since I am currently ~taken~ this project is purely experimental and I never intended to meet any of these people in person. Although my boyfriend was against this project he didn’t prevent me from carrying it out.

For this experiment I (re)downloaded Tinder and swiped right (that means saying yes right?) on every male I came in contact with (sorry ladies). 10 minutes into swiping I broke a sweat and had to take a break. I don’t know how I used to put up with this; it’s actually kind of exhausting.

To save myself the effort I waited for each respective dude to message me first. Since I’m new to the whole getting-dick-pics-from-strangers’ game, I felt that I needed to warm these guys up a bit first. Since I am currently studying abroad in Buenos Aires I hit them with that “hola como andasss” (with some extra s’s thrown in there for good measure) and other mind numbing nonsense for a bit before I popped the question.

Once I got the message from Tinder that I wasn’t allowed any more likes for the day I decided that I had a sufficient pool of men to choose from.

Since this is Argentina, it’s customary to exchange Whatsapp contacts in lieu of texting.

To keep things interesting (for myself) I created an alter ego and told these guys that I I’m a retired web developer (at the age of 20). It was almost too fun to catfish these guys and I apologize to the real developer of Uptick for stealing credit for your app.

Side note: Honestly kind of regret not getting on Tinder more for the sole purpose of practicing my Spanish.

If anyone out there needs a confidence boost I would highly suggest getting on tinder, especially in Argentina. The men here have no qualms about laying the compliments on very heavily and I must say it was kind of nice to hear the flattering things these guys would say.

Once I got to the point where I felt that it would be chill to ask for pics I went for it. I thought it would be easier if I skipped the whole beating around the bush thing and just asked them straight up.

I decided I would turn this test into a real social experiment using the scientific method. Shoutout to my junior year physics teacher, putting what I learned in high school to good use, obviously.

Hypothesis: If I go on Tinder, within a week, I will be able to receive pictures of penises from men I have never met.

Methods

• Download tinder.

• Set distance and age adjustments as you wish. I chose only men between the age of 20-25 and within 15 miles of my location.

• Start swiping generously. Do not look at pictures, just say yes.

• Start flirtatious banter.

• Exchange numbers.

• Narrow down pool to 10 guys. This way their responses could easily be converted into a percentage.

• Continue flirtatious banter.

•Ask them for a picture.

• Block them and delete tinder.

Results

• Out of the 10 gentlemen that I encountered four of them obliged and sent me the picture that I requested. I would have included pictures but I felt that there might be some privacy concerns etc. The reasons why the other six did not send me pictures.

• Read the message but did not respond.

• Replied “queeeee??? Jajaj” (whaaaat haha) and then never responded again.

• Started saying things in Argentine slang that I was too lazy to translate so we just stopped talking.

• Sent me the moral dilemma emoji.

• Said “jaja lo siento nooo” (haha I’m sorry no).

Conclusion

From this data I have observed that 40 percent of strangers on the Internet will send another stranger a picture of their privates without ever meeting them in person. I felt that this was quite a high number because this is something I would never personally do. Perhaps men just enjoy having women seeing their privates. Maybe this was a more cultural thing that occurs only in Buenos Aires or Argentina.

I think this would be an interesting experiment to conduct in another country or reverse the gender roles and have a man solicit the pictures from women. I was not overly surprised by these results because I know from middle schools days on chat roulette that strangers on the internet love to show their junk to other strangers.
