People really do not understand Marie Claire’s #WhatIWishISaid hashtag, and it’s hilarious

The magazine continues to tweet clarification

This morning Marie Claire launched a #WhatIWishISaid campaign for International Women’s day, and the outcome has been more hilarious than anything.

The campaign, originally intended to expose sexism and the ways in which it happens every day in both large and small ways, took a wrong turn somewhere between misogynistic men, and hyper-confused people getting involved.

People have either gotten way to personal about it, or just have zero clue what is going on.

Marie Claire continues to tweet with clarification, but it’s not going well.

Have a look for yourself.

Some people are attaching media that has nothing to do with the topic

And some people just aren’t attaching anything

A few have made it really personal

And some just have no freaking idea what is going on

Brands, on the other hand, are on a whole different level

Poor Marie Claire — they were just trying to do a nice thing.
