Thank Spencer Pratt for giving crystals their moment in the sun. Without his batshit insistence that they actually work, we might not have the glorious assortment of crystal-themed goods our society is currently blessed with.
Subtle-but-fun nail art has been the trend for a few years now (remember the marble craze?), but quartz nails don't just look pretty gripping your steering wheel in an Instagram picture — they have actual rose quartz properties said to bring love, attraction and luck.
First created by nail artist Alexandra Bouffard, the smooth, calming designs are just light enough to look intricate without overpowering the wearer — because seriously, you have to look at your own nails all damn day.
The trend is catching on and expanding from quartz-and-crystal-style manis to other geodes and earthy patterns. It's so pretty that I'm wishing for the millionth time that I didn't bite my nails so mine could look like this rather how they do now (like sea creatures who have lost their shells):
