Michelle Carter continued to text her boyfriend’s phone even after his suicide

There were nearly 80 messages

We are currently awaiting the verdict in the Michelle Carter texting suicide trial.

Carter is accused of persuading her boyfriend, Conrad Roy III, to kill himself via text in 2014. Prosecutors allege she engaged in a “sick game of life and death,” triggering the 18-year-old boy’s suicide. Read the texts she sent him here.

Just days after his death, she began sending him texts again. A psychiatrists arguing for the defense claims texts sent after, as well as before, were due to her psychiatric medication.

The morning after Roy killed himself, Carter texted him, “Did you do something??! Conrad I love you so much please tell me this is a joke.”

And two days later, again, “I love you so much.” There were nearly 80 messages sent.

She messaged him the day before her birthday, “It’s my birthday tomorrow. I really wish you were here to celebrate it with me. I love you and miss you so much,” and then came an apology message.

“I read this thing online about trying to agree with the person and that would make them change their mind because they see how stupid they’re being. But it didn’t work for you and I did it for too long. You probably thought I was okay with it and You talked about being in heaven and being my angel and at the time I went along with it because i knew you weren’t gonna do anything. But you fucking did it and I’m so sorry I didn’t save you.”

The judge will take time to consider closing arguments, and will announce when he has come to a verdict.

babe will be following the case with further updates on the trial.
