This girl turned Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’ into the ultimate Pride anthem and the Internet can’t get enough

‘Sing it out, sing it loud, I’m proud’

Twitter user Jane Oranika, 20, rewrote “Shape Of You” by Ed Sheeran and turned it into a gorgeous pride anthem.

Jane is a musician from Montgomery, AL and this is isn’t the first time she’s had a tweet go viral. Last year, her Twitter account was suspended when she went viral for making a reaction video to Trump winning the election.

Her rewrite of “Shape of You” once again confronts serious issues and starts with her rapping.

“Let me tell you about Pride, the struggle to survive, living everyday with your loving under fire. People questioning the way you self-identify.”

The rap progresses, promising if the people who advocate against LGBTQ+ rights were born LGBTQ+, they would be more accepting. The powerful message continues into the chorus where Jane shows off her beautiful voice.

“I will not be ashamed. This is just who I am, and who I was meant to be, no mistakes. So right here I stand, I’m out on my own two feet. No you will not tear me down. No my heart will not be bound. Sing it out, sing it loud, I’m proud.”

We reached out to Jane for comment and she said, “it’s cool to embrace who you are. It’s not something to be quiet about or ashamed of. I want that to be the overall message.”
