Serena Williams doesn’t have time for this bullshit

Boy, bye

Yesterday, John McEnroe said Serena Williams (read: the greatest athlete of all time) would only be “like No. 700 in the world” if she played on the men’s circuit.

McEnroe is a retired American tennis player known for both his talent and temper on the court.

He has called Williams “an incredible player” and “the greatest athlete of the last 100 years,” but didn’t think she’d be as good if she played against the manly men.

People were pissed, and so was Serena Williams. The record holder for the most Grand Slam wins posted two tweets in response to John McEnroe’s statements this evening.

In the first one she called him out for not having his facts straight

“Dear John, I adore and respect you but please please keep me out of your statements that are not factually based,” she tweeted.”

Then, in her own words, said she doesn’t have time for his bullshit

“I’ve never played anyone ranked ‘there’ nor do I have the time. Respect me and my privacy as I’m trying to have a baby. Good day sir,” she said.

And her fans loved it

Of course there were memes

And if there’s one lesson learned from this, it’s never come for Serena Williams

Good day, sir.
