People keep saying Texas ‘deserved’ Hurricane Harvey for political reasons
Y’all are trash for this
by Jenn Ficarra
Yesterday, University of Tampa sociology professor Ken Storey tweeted the following:
It wasn't long before the tweet spread and Storey was forced to issue an apology for his insensitive tweet.
I deeply regret a statement I posted yesterday. I never meant to wish ill will upon any group. I hope all affected by Harvey recover quickly
— Ken Storey (@klstorey) August 28, 2017
The University of Tampa issued the following statement in regards to Storey's tweet:
“The University of Tampa stands in solidarity with the people impacted by Hurricane Harvey, and our thoughts and prayers are with all involved. The comments made by Kenneth Storey were made via his private social media account. They were not made within his capacity as a faculty member, and they don’t represent the University’s views. The University of Tampa condemns these comments and the sentiment behind them. Storey has publicly apologized for his comments.”
Unfortunately, Ken Storey isn't the only person on Twitter saying that Hurricane Harvey was deserved. Ann Coulter, the stray pube you find on a bar of soap, tweeted this gem:
I don't believe Hurricane Harvey is God's punishment for Houston electing a lesbian mayor. But that is more credible than "climate change." https://t.co/K7d7mopY5Q

Others have uttered similar, disgusting sentiments.
y'all know this hurricane harvey punishment for texas being the worst fucking state in america right

Hurricane Harvey is God's punishment for living among the beasts as equals. https://t.co/hpf70KgiQE

If I were a dick I'd say Hurricane Harvey is God's punishment on Texas. They shouldn't have voted for Trump. Good thing I'm not a dick.😇😇 pic.twitter.com/CR7MC9KFzV

Hurricane Harvey isn't punishment for anything except for maybe our total denial of climate change. And have you ever met someone from Texas? They're not exactly the kinds of people you want to mock — they can bring assault weapons into Starbucks.
And in the meantime, here's how to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey instead of trying to stunt for retweets. Wanna talk about karma? Keep saying (largely minority, elderly, handicapped) people "deserved" to die and see what happens.
People are mad at this magazine calling Kim K the First Lady but tbh she’s better than our actual First Lady, so….
It’s also North’s first cover ever!
by Amanda Ross
In a (in my opinion) gorgeous new shoot for Interview Magazine, the cover line splash declared Kim Kardashian West "America's new First Lady" of America. Despite the fact that it's obviously irreverent and more of a nod to her ubiquity than anything else, people (read: mostly Trump supporters) decided to get really, really mad about…
Are you even surprised that these are the worst states to be a woman in America?
Texas makes you take out ‘rape insurance’ for abortions
by Caroline Phinney
A new study just ranked Utah, Virginia and Texas as the worst states to be a woman in 2017, with Utah coming in last at 50th, and Virginia a close second. Alternatively, Hawaii was ranked best. The study was based off three factors: Workplace environment, education and health, and political empowerment. But in order to…
These girls aren’t allowed to wear leggings to school unless they’re ‘not fat’
‘Even if you’re not fat, you look fat’
by Caroline Phinney
A South Carolina high school principal just told female students they shouldn’t wear leggings unless they are “not fat.” It was during a 10th grade assembly about clothing and conduct that Stratford High School principal at Heather Taylor told female students they shouldn’t be wearing leggings if they’re above a certain size. “I’ve told you this…
