Nobody asked for Instagram’s most disgusting update yet

Instagram has implemented a lot of updates nobody asked for in the past — stories, multiple photo posts, reply commenting.

And while we didn't like them in the beginning, we grew to accept them over time, and eventually began using IG Stories even more than Snap.

That's why the new update comes as an affront, and there is literally not one account in this good world that is ready for it.

All of the time you've spent cultivating the perfect grid, sets of three and six that fit perfectly with one another, and it's all about to be ruined, because there's a new four grid system.

It's kind of like how Apple keeps saying we won't be able to imagine life before face recognition.

But we will be able to imagine life before this — back before our aesthetic was absolutely fucked — and we will miss it.

Photos will also appear smaller, so really, what's the point?

The app has begun testing the new grid by rolling it out to a few people at a time, but this is standard for them in redesigning.

The justification behind it is that because iPhone screens are getting larger, the grid will need to get larger, too.

All we can do is hope for the best and prepare for the worst. It's going to take years to rebuild from a disaster of this caliber.
