Taylor Swift just discounted ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ for the slimiest reason ever

There's no denying Taylor Swift is an incredibly calculating snake, but sometimes when people come for her I feel this weird, deep-seeded desire to defend her.

She NEEDS to sell custom Taylor Swift snake merch because, like she says in her hit song "LWYMMD," they made her do it. She CAN'T tweet about politics because her agent probably doesn't let her. She's just a fragile pop star, who's been pushed to the edge.

But Swift discounting her single amidst a chart battle for number 1 with Cardi B is something she's just going to have to talk her own damn way out of. I'm tired.

There is seriously no reasonable reason any levelheaded, fair playing musician would do this. Then again, nobody ever said she she was fair.

Some people on Twitter are saying her team probably feels like it's losing it momentum quickly and so they might be desperate, while others are arguing if she were trying to push Cardi B out, she would have discounted her song earlier in the week. But those people are also Swift stans.

Either way, as someone who once pulled her music off streaming services because she didn't believe they were paying artists fairly, it's unlikely she's had a change of heart and now wants to offer her music for even less.

She's put thought into this. This is a plan.
