YouTube makeup artists love to flex come Halloween time. Every year, among the hundreds of similar Sexy Killer Clown and DIY Heart-Eyes Emoji makeup looks, there are the inevitable major fuck-ups.
This one kinda takes the cake, though.
Turkish makeup guru @percemakin uploaded a video to her YouTube account depicting a blackface "transformation."
She then uploaded stills to her Instagram account. But she still wasn't done, and hidden amongst her many, many hashtags it the tag #slave.
Yep, there it is, sandwiched in between #blackwoman and #sadmakeup.
The YouTuber is one of NYX Cosmetics affiliate artists. Online, Twitter and Instagram users are reaching out to the makeup company, urging them to drop the artist and issue a statement condemning the offensive look.
Once the scandal erupted, she briefly made her Instagram private:
Now, just a few minutes later, her account is back up with the offending hashtag deleted (though #blackwoman and #sadmakeup are still there) but comments have been suspiciously turned off:
