Justin Timberlake needs to step back and let Rihanna perform at the Super Bowl

He’s gotten away with enough, it’s time for the Fenty Bowl

People who should be considered for Super Bowl 2018: Rihanna, Britney, Ariana, Christina, Missy, Taylor, Nicki, Beyoncé (again).

People who should not be considered: Justin Timberlake.

SexyBack bops, but Justin Timberlake has made a career out of culturally appropriating his music, looks, and just about everything else from the black community without apology.

Remember when he failed to defend Janet Jackson when she was dragged for exposing her tit at the Super Bowl in 2004, even though he was the one who exposed it?

And then following the BET awards in 2016, when he tweeted #inspired, in response to Jesse Williams's amazing acceptance speech, which specifically addressed cultural appropriation in its closing.

Sorry, Justin. But people noticed.

Plus, his music massively glamorizes domestic abuse and violence.

The music video for "TKO" utilizes domestic violence as a backdrop to a top-selling hit.

  • Oh, and who could forget when he and his friends made a cruel video montage of homeless people in LA congratulating him on his marriage as Timberlake laughed at his $6.5 million Italian reception?

This is going to be a hard one for the judges, but it shouldn't be.

Some have said perhaps Rihanna just "isn't interested" in doing it (like when she said about being a judge on American Idol it depended on how "bored" she was), but Rihanna did a Super Bowl commercial in 2016, and a pre-halftime performance with Kanye in 2015. Don't tell me she wouldn't do it.

Justin has somehow managed to screw over literally every woman he has ever worked with, and yet Beyonce and Rihanna came out unscathed.

Let's celebrate by having one of them perform instead.
