Kylie denounces her Jenner name, decides to become full-time YouTuber
This feels like two steps backwards
Kylie just decided to pull a full-on Kendall, attempting to remove her last name from the collective consciousness because she says it's all become too tiring.
"I don't want to be 'Kylie Jenner,'" she said in an interview with Complex magazine.
And as a part of her push to rebrand herself, she's also begun working as a full-time YouTuber.
Although the "fame isn't bad," she says she feels like she doesn't know who she is anymore, "It’s become a job more than who I am." And maybe she thinks the move to YouTube will change things for her?
A lot of young people get their news there and are super plugged into the online community, but celebrities don't have to do this. It makes sense why a C or D list, pseudo up and coming celeb might try it out, or even a makeup artist who wants to get their work out there, but celebrities like Kylie already have massive followings and don't have to build them.
But with Shay Mitchell from Pretty Little Liars and Madelaine Petsch — Cheryl from Riverdale — doing a similar thing, it feels like a number of celebrities have become concerned with building a following on the video blogging platform, proving it must really be where the money is.
"I don’t want to be that person anymore," she said of the Jenner name.
So here's to 2017 — the year we went back to 2015 and all became YouTube bloggers.

Age is just a number, but not in the creepy, "it's fine that I'm dating an 18-year-old even though I'm 35!" way — more in the way that nothing really matters and everything is relative. Haha, I'm fine! Anyway, celebrities: they're just like us, but everybody knows about them and they get paid to drink…

There's an epidemic going around, but it's one I'm actually kind of loving: weird-ass celeb Photoshop. Blessedly, it's very different from the celebrity editing of our youth. We grew up with magazines retouching models' waists to stick-figure proportions, but kids these days get to revel in a world of edits for fun. First, we had…

I will never forget today. On Tuesday May 22 at exactly 3:09 p.m. EST, I was innocently scrolling through my Instagram feed, excited to try out that new mute feature on girls from my sorority who have kids now.At 3:09, I was a girl. Now, I'm a woman. And it's all thanks to Kimberly Noel…
