A member of the Pussycat Dolls says the girl group was an abusive ‘prostitution ring’

‘We had to sleep with whoever they said’

Popstar and ex-Pussycat Dolls member Kaya Jones has come forward with alligations about her former girl group. In a series of tweets, Jones claims the Pussycat Dolls were at the mercy of managers and industry execs, comparing the group’s operation to a "prostitution ring.”

The allegations come amid a number of other entertainment industry horror stories after a New York Times exposé on film studio head Harvey Weinstein.

She describes her time with the group in a disturbing stream of Tweets

"My truth. I wasn't in a girl group. I was in a prostitution ring. Oh and we happened to sing and be famous. While everyone who owned us made the money."

Kaya claims it was so bad she quit the group and abandoned a $13 million record deal

"How bad was it? People ask – bad enough that I waked away from my dreams, band mates, and a 13 million dollar record deal. We knew we were going to #1."

She blames an unnamed woman (speculated to be founder Robin Antin) for years of abuse

"I want the den mother from hell to confess why another one of her girl groups committed suicide? Tell the public how you mentally broke us."

And alleges being a part of the team meant being forced to have sex

"To be a part of the team you must be a team player, meaning sleep with whoever they say. If you don't they have nothing on you to leverage."

Kaya says they were addicted to drugs, which the unnamed abusers exploited

"Yes I said leverage. Meaning after they turn you out or get you hooked on drugs they use it against you. Correct. Victimizing the victim again."

And she never reported any of it because she feared for her life

"That's why I have so much respect for out military. I've been through war. But my scars you can't see. At least real war is honest."

"Why don't we report it? Because we are all abused! I personally have been warned if I tell I will . . . you know end up dead or no more career."

She ends the tweets by asking Hollywood if they'll finally take action

"Anyone in Hollywood care to talk about the industry's sins? Nope no one . . ."

Her fans are horrified and reached out with supportive messages

With accusations against Weinstein and other major Hollywood names popping up left and right, celebrities have begun speaking out about their personal traumatic experiences.

Kaya's claim comes only days after rumors that the Pussycat Dolls are reuniting, but it seems safe to assume that's not happening.
