This trans woman saved her sperm to father her own children, proving men are almost totally obsolete

Why don’t they teach THIS in biology?

We're officially (10 months into) 2017, which means if a trans woman wants to father her own child, we better damn well help her find a way.

And that's precisely what Lea Membrey, a 20 year old trans woman who began her transition in July 2015, has been planning to do for years.

After feeling "disconnected" from her male body while growing up, Lea told the Daily Mail she worried when she decided to transition about how it would affect her ability to have a child that was at least half biologically hers.

Now, two years after beginning hormones, she says her testosterone is no longer detectible, meaning she wouldn't be able to have that child, even before undergoing sex reassignment surgery.

But Luckily, because she thought to bank sperm, she can.

"I had to bank the sperm before I started intensive hormone treatments," she told the Mail, "because once you begin that your male organs eventually stop working altogether."

And while Lea does intend to have full gender reassignment surgery at some point, at the moment what's more important to her is how she's presenting at first glance.

She got her boobs done about a year ago, and her next step is making her face even "softer."

She also told the Mail a lot of people question her about why she didn't decide to get that surgery first, but that right now it's not as necessary in her mind.

"What's most important for me is being able go outside today and wholeheartedly be seen as a female," she said.

And clearly, things are going well.
