Riverdale’s Lili Reinhart was dragged for ‘blackface’ but the only offensive part of this is THINKING it’s blackface

‘What about this looks like a black woman?’

Lili Reinhart, best known for her portrayal of Betty Cooper on Riverdale, apologized today for what people are calling a "racially insensitive" look.

"Found my Halloween costume!!" Reinhart wrote when she posted the photo to Instagram, "Inspired by the color of my soul."

It's clearly some kind of medieval gargoyle demon thing:

A talented actress, Reinhart is also known for being a gifted special effects makeup artist on the side. However, this particular look found her in deep water after people began to claim in the comments it was blackface.

The post has since been deleted, but the only thing more offensive than actually doing blackface is thinking this photo is, in any way, a representation of a person of color.

Seriously. Please tell me how this looks like any Black woman you've seen ever.

Even if you hate her.

"I did not mean for my tweet to come off that way. I can see how it was interpreted as being insensitive, completely," she wrote on Sunday.

It's not unusual for celebrities to get fried over any and every tweet. Lili Reinhart (and everyone, tbh) needs to be super-conscious of what they are putting out there and how it will be perceived — but even she couldn't have seen this coming.
