Backstreet Boy Nick Carter has just been accused of rape

‘He threw me on the bed and climbed on top of me’

Yesterday, Melissa Schuman, a singer best known for her role in the all-girl teen band Dream, accused Nick Carter of raping her in 2002 when he was 22 and she was 18. Schuman graphically details the alleged attack in her blog.

Schuman says she and Carter, best known as a member of the pop group the Backstreet Boys, were cast in the same made for TV movie. He invited her and a friend to his Santa Monica apartment on their day off, she says.

"He asked me if I would like to come into his office and listen to some new music he was working on," she says, at which point he "turned off the light."

Schuman says they began to kiss and he was "aware I was a virgin," but he took her to the bathroom adjacent to his office and shut the door.

She says he began to unbutton her pants but she told him she "didn't want to go any further," to which he said, "don’t worry, I won’t tell anybody."

He took off her pants anyway and "proceeded to perform oral sex on me," even though she told him to stop. "I remember thinking at that point that maybe after this he will just stop," she says, "but he didn’t."

She says he then forced her to perform oral sex on him, saying, “I did it for you, you do it for me,” and she didn't leave because "he was stronger and much bigger than me."

Schuman says Cater then "threw me on the bed and climbed on top of me," after she told him again that she didn't want to have sex.

"He was relentless," she says, "refusing to take my no’s for an answer. He was heavy, too heavy to get out from under him. Then I felt it, he put something inside of me. I asked him what it was and he whispered in my ear once more, 'It’s all me baby.'"

Soon after, Schuman says she was forced to perform on stage with him, and reliving and re-writing the events is traumatic even now.

A rep for Carter did not immediately return a request for comment.
