Someone started a hate campaign against Millie Bobby Brown and it’s filled with horrible tweets

#TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown?

A trending hashtag right now, #TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown, is full of photoshopped tweets and presumably falsified accounts designed to make the Stranger Things darling look like a homophobic edgelord and it's incredibly fucked up.

The words and pictures that Millie stands "accused" of posting are nowhere to be seen on her actual Twitter account, nor is there anything from her numerous interviews and public appearances to suggest that she would be openly rude or verbally abusive in the hyperbolic way this hashtag suggests.

It seems like this is some kind of weird internet joke, which I'm normally all for. But when the punchline is the reputation of a 13-year-old child, it's actually not very funny at all.

Millie has yet to respond, and she definitely shouldn't. Luckily, people are starting to flood the tag and come to her defense but at the end of the day, this outpouring of hate and slander isn't something that anybody should have to go through, let along a child who's already under an immense amount of public scrutiny.
