Jennifer Lawrence explains why she’s such an ‘asshole’ (her words, not mine!) to her fans
‘I become incredibly rude’

Jennifer Lawrence is notorious for three things: Being a celebrated actress, loving pizza (just like you, how relatable!), and being kind of an asshole to fans who approach her.
This summer, while doing a movie press tour, Jen recounted the story of violently attacking a fan who wanted a selfie and pouring beer all over him and his belongings. Last night on Variety's Actors on Actors video series, she explained why she goes on the offensive:
"Once I enter a public space, I become incredibly rude," she says. "I turn into a huge asshole. That's kind of my only way of defending myself."
Jen says she turns down selfies and fan conversations to protect herself in public, telling them it's her day off and to leave her alone.
And I totally get it! Celebrities aren't our property, and she's a woman who's allowed to say no. But maybe throw the fans a bone once in a while? I mean, her entire image is based around being so relatable that she could be your friend. Look what happens when I Google a similar phrase:
I don't know! I see both sides! Let me know what you think — actually, I don't have to ask for y'all's opinions because I know you're gonna give them to me in the comments anyway. And probably call someone a bitch in the process. God, I love you.
