This guy Catfished a beauty contest to teach women the dumbest lesson ever

I’m tired!

How many times have you heard someone say that actually, inner beauty is the most important kind? And why does the person who tells you that bullshit always have 10/10 bone structure?

A 22-year-old male model entered a virtual beauty competition to "prove" to his friends that modern women "follow trends" while women in the past "valued qualities like individuality and charisma" — which like, what past? Remember flappers? Remember poodle skirts?

But with the confidence only a man arguing about something he doesn't really understand has, Eli Diaghilev enlisted a photographer, a stylist and a makeup artist to help him follow the trends he knows so well.

Together, they created Arina Alieva and entered the competition.

And since competitors in 2018 Miss Virtual Kazakhstan only had to submit photographs, Diaghilev/Alieva made it to the contest's final round before he was satisfied that he was right.

Then, Diaghilev finally revealed his ruse through a video confession.

"Appearance and beauty are subjective," he said, according to a translated transcript of the video. "You need to remain an individual and be beautiful not only from the outside."

Which like, duh. Being hot on the outside but shitty on the inside only works if you have a successful YouTube channel or really rich parents. But that "lesson" would be a lot more meaningful if it didn't come from someone who literally gets paid to be beautiful on the outside.
