I love love, don’t you?
One of many things I learned yesterday is that every couple I know is a little too trigger-happy on Instagram when it comes to Valentines Day.
It's fair, I get it, you want to celebrate your love without all the judgment of your sad, single friends. It's like a free pass to be as disgusting, slutty and cute with your partner as you like. But, as always, I do think we could all be a bit more like Kanye. Well, kind of.
Yesterday, after months of remaining completely silent on the social media platform, the rapper spent a little more than seven hours posting photos of iconic couples in celebration of his love with Kim.
There's just one problem: Nearly every couple he posted about had split, died, or brutally assaulted each other at one point or another.
Like Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, for example. Or Jen and Brad.
And in many cases it was because one of them had died, making it even weirder, like Princess Diana and Prince Charles, or Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain.
Actually, out of all 50-plus couples featured, only Barack and Michelle Obama, Will and Jada Smith, Victoria and David Beckham, and Ellen Degeneres and Portia di Rossi are still together.
At first I was like . . . does Kanye know what he's doing? But then I was was like, of course Kanye knows what he's doing. There's clearly something else going on. A bit of self-promo before a big announcement perhaps?
Or maybe he and Kim are plotting their own break up? Warped, but I wouldn't put it past them.
