People are weirdly okay with this teacher accused of sex with a 14-year-old because… she’s hot

Uhhhhhh

Stephanie Peterson Ferri, a 26-year-old woman from Florida, was arrested on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior this week for allegedly having sexual intercourse with and sending nude photos to a 14-year-old boy.

The boy in question says Ferri sent him naked photos of herself, and the two of them snuck out in the middle of the night and had sex in multiple locations, including Ferri's car and a barn.

She also allegedly bought him marijuana and a bowl to smoke it with. The teenager says he lost his virginity to Ferri, and that during the duration of their "relationship" his grades suffered, because they were spending so much time together.

All in all, the case sounds like a classic example of a sexual predator grooming and abusing an underage victim. But for a lot of dumbasses online, it's not like that — because Ferri is "hot."

Scroll through any of the comments on an article or tweet about Ferri and you'll be inundated with questions about her Snapchat name or Instagram handle, completely ignoring the fact that this woman is quite literally a pedophile.

I'd like to think this goes without saying, but based on a lot of online reactions, it doesn't — just because someone is conventionally attractive, doesn't mean that they can't commit sexual assault, and just because a young man receives sexual attention from a conventionally attractive woman doesn't mean he's "lucky" or "into it."

Ferri resigned from her position as a science teacher at New Smyrna Beach Middle School on Monday, two days prior to the arrest, and has since been released from jail after posting bail on Thursday evening.
