Bella Hadid says she suffered from ‘serious depression’ from bullying
It apparently stems from her childhood

Bella Hadid is one of the fiercest top models of the Millennial age. She's landed cover after cover for big brands and remains the face and brand ambassador for Dior. Despite near-constant winning moments (to the public eye, anyway), Bella admits she's been battling "serious depression."
In an interview with Instyle, Bella opened up about being self-conscious because of childhood bullying. “We all have our stuff to overcome, and that’s what I want to preach to the kids these days,” she said.
“I went through a serious depression last year, and I think it stemmed from when I was younger and [being bullied by] the kids in school. And now, I guess I shouldn’t be as self-conscious—people tell me that every day—but it’s a personal thing. We all go through it because we’re human.”
Nowadays, Bella said she's gotten used to the criticism and let's her haters continue to hate. “It’s taken me a long time to learn not to listen,” she said.
Bella said she's now in a place where she can hit the snooze button on trolls and be completely at ease with it. “I turn my phone off and remember that the people around me are the only ones whose opinions I really care about. Why would I read those comments? They are usually coming more for my character than for my face, which is more hurtful.”
A life lesson for us all: never read the comments.
