Everything you need to know about having a boob job
In case you want to go up a few cup sizes
by Amanda Ross
Are you thinking about getting a boob job? Maybe you think your titties are too tiny, or maybe you just want to change what they look like. No matter why you want to get your breasts done, here is your quick guide to boob jobs.
How much is a boob job?
In 2016, the average breast augmentation surgery cost $3,719. That’s a lot of fancy lattes.
How long do I have to take off work or school to have a boob job?
Usually patients only need to take five to seven days off work for the surgery and recovery time, barring any complications. What a perfect little vacay!
What are boob implants made of?
You have two options when it comes to boob augmentation: silicone and saline. Most women use silicone, because it looks and feels more real. Saline implants can cause small ripples on the breasts. But saline has one MAJOR benefit: you can tell if there’s a leak as they get smaller over time. It’s difficult to detect a rupture in silicone implants, which can cause negative health effects.
How many procedures will I need?
Breast implants don’t last forever. About 25 percent of women need another surgery after 10 years of their first breast augmentation due to scarring or ruptured implants. Certain factors increase your chances of needing new boobs, including weight loss and pregnancy.
Also, if you’re trying to go from really small to pretty big, it can’t all be done at once. Most surgeons suggest going up only a cup size or two at a time.
Do boob jobs feel different than au naturale breasts?
Umm, duh. While silicone feels similar to the breast, there’s still a noticeable difference. However, the difference is apparently more pronounced in women who had little breast tissue to begin with than in women who had more breast tissue before surgery.
Do you lose feeling in your nipples after a boob job?
Sadly, you can lose feeling in your nipples after a boob job. It depends on what kind of surgery you get and what shape your tits are. About 15 percent of patients in the US get nipple numbness after breast augmentation, but some patients regain sensation after their surgeries.
How can I get a Kylie Jenner boob job or Taylor Swift boob job?
Kylie Jenner’s fans are convinced she’s had a boob job, but she’s denied having the surgery many times. Chances are, it’s just her pregnancy making her tits look like that. Sorry! But your plastic surgeon can work with you to get a similar shape to Kylie’s chest — they do Kardashian surgeries all the time, I guarantee.
Taylor Swift’s fans think she’s FOR SURE got some kind of tit augmentation. Just look how huge they look compared to Taylors of the past. But again, the star hasn’t claimed to have had any plastic surgery. My personal belief? Taylor just got thicc. It happens. But again, you can totally talk to your doctor about how you want some T Swift titties. They’ve heard weirder things.
No matter what you decide to do, make sure you’re getting your tits done for yourself. It’s your body and you can do WHATEVER you want with it, no matter what your man or your mom says. I’m proud of you for being the you that you want to be. Oh, but one last thing. DON’T TRUST JUST ANY PLASTIC SURGEON. Do your research, ladies. It’ll pay off.
