Ed Westwick won’t face any rape charges due to ‘lack of evidence’

Three women accused him of sexual assault

Despite lengthy and graphic accounts of sexual assault by three women, Gossip Girl actor Ed Westwick won't be charged with any counts of rape due to a lack of evidence, according to Los Angles County prosecutors.

A memo written by district prosecutors says two of Westwick's accusers provided witnesses, though some testified they were not in the room when the alleged assaults occurred. The attorneys say because the witnesses were unable to solidly corroborate the alleged attacks, prosecution is declined.

Because Westwick's third accuser failed to appear at the District Attorney's office for questioning, her charges were declined as well.

Though the memo also details allegations of groping by other women, prosecutors can't file as "the incidents fell outside the statute of limitations.”

Westwick has denied all the allegations against him.
