Influencer asks fans to accept her relationship with 13-year-old boy

It’s messed up

A YouTuber has spoken out about her relationship with a 13-year-old boy in a bizarre confession video. Ariadna Juarez, an 18-year-old beauty blogger from Dallas, opened up about being in love with a child. He is an Instagram influencer with a large following – but we are withholding his name as he is underage.

Juarez's fans spotted her posting photos of him shirtless in bed. There is also a video of them circulating on YouTube of them kissing. She addressed the situation in a video called SPEAKING UP ABOUT OUR CONTROVERSIAL “RELATIONSHIP.” Juarez appeared onscreen with the boy's mom, and while she initially said: "Me and him were never in a relationship," she did go on to describe her "love" for him (and in a video from May described being so into him, she was planning their wedding).

  • "I never thought people could be so hurtful, and society is so fucked up that y’all don’t want people to be happy," she said. "I wish that since it’s 2018, people would be more open minded and more accepting of happiness. But as we have found out in the past few days, that’s not how people are."

Juarez lashed out at her critics who said dating a 13-year-old was a bad idea. Or, y'know, pedophilia. She said: "It’s sad to know that we have to put our love aside just because people don’t want to see us together, and because people are ignorant. It’s sickening to see that people don’t want to see you happy without knowing anything about you."

  • She claimed that despite the 5-year gap between them (and the fact that the boy is well under the age of consent in Texas), they weren't that different:

"It’s stupid to think that if I was one year younger or if he was one year older, it would make such a big difference, and people would be accepting of it. I can tell you, one year is not going to make a difference when you love somebody. You can love the same person today, tomorrow, next year or three years later. For that same reason, we decided we’re gonna wait and we are gonna try this again when everybody will be OK with it."

As well as admitting she consulted a lawyer to assess the legality of their relationship, Juarez hit back at those criticizing her, saying they were just in it for the likes: "Keep in mind the only reason this became such a big deal is because both me and him are very well known on social media. Obviously if it was a couple that had no followers and nobody knew who they were, then nobody would care to even speak about it. But a lot of people that are posting this just to get clout out of it."

The boy's mom added: "It’s very upsetting for me to see them because I can see and I can tell how much they both love each other."

Juarez clarified that she and the boy would still be together if it weren't for the haters who said dating a child is wrong. "We tried to be strong for a while, and just block the negativity but it got out of hand."

She has made her Instagram private.
