A bunch of sick fucks are trying to exploit Mac Miller’s death for cash

There is only one official fundraiser

A month after his death, Mac Miller's family has had to release a statement to fans warning them about fake fundraisers for their son. Speaking to XXL, they spoke out about a number of fraudulent events announced under the guise of "fundraising for causes on his behalf."

The only official fundraiser anyone should trust is the Mac Miller: A Celebration of Life event taking place in LA on October 31st. "It is important that it be known to paying fans which of these are official or not," they said, adding that for all official Mac Miller news and information, fans can refer to tmmcf.org.

One Twitter account, The Mac Miller Memoir, has since issued a tweet about a November 24th meet-up they were planning in the name of Mac. "We will no longer be doing the T-shirt’s or bracelets and raising money. I spoke to management," an organizer said.

A number of fake GoFundMe accounts have also been set up and shut down – the two links below have been taken offline.

On September 7th, 2018, the rapper died of a suspected drug overdose. He was found unresponsive, after one of his friends called for an "immediate dispatch" for a patient in cardiac arrest, and was pronounced dead on the scene. He was 26.
