It’s official, everyone has gotten TOO good at Halloween

There’s always next year, I guess?

When most people say that the holidays are a stressful time, they're usually talking about Christmas and Thanksgiving. But you know what the REAL stressful holiday is? Halloween!

Hear me out. Every October, we are expected to spend hours researching clever-but-sexy costume ideas on Pinterest and drop hundreds of dollars on ridiculous garments and props that we'll probably never wear again — only to show up to the Halloween party and realize that literally everyone else has a better costume than you. Dammit, why didn't I think of being the Miley Cyrus meme??

This year, for example, I ordered a crown-shaped beanie and Southside Serpents leather jacket from Spencer's, told my friends that I was Jughead Jones to which they responded, "Jughead who?" and then took it all off after 15 minutes because it was way too hot. To be fair, this wasn't REALLY my fault. I blame this utter failure on the fact that Halloween is on a Wednesday this year, which made me confused about which weekend we were supposed to dress up for.

That being said, apparently nobody else in the world was confused. All over social media, people are showing off their incredibly witty Halloween costumes and making me feel very insecure about my crafting skills as well as my ability to stay on top of the freshest memes. Here are some of the best costumes that I've spotted so far:
