Demi Lovato successfully checked out of rehab only to be called fat by losers on the Internet

Stop fat shaming Demi Lovato!

It's been a tough year for Demi Lovato. In July, she was hospitalized for a near-fatal drug overdose. After spending 90 days in rehab, the singer is finally back in the public eye. Recently, she was photographed by the paparazzi as she went for a post-workout coffee run in Los Angeles. Wearing a denim jacket and white T-shirt, she looks stronger and healthier than ever.

However, instead of celebrating the fact that she's alive and well, some people are taking this opportunity to criticize Demi for appearing to gain weight. As if surviving a drug overdose wasn't enough of a harrowing experience, Demi now has to endure a barrage of fat-shaming comments.

"Damn Demi Lovato got fat as shit," a Twitter user said. Another tweeted, "When you stop using your spoon for heroine and use it for something else."

On @justjared's Instagram post of Demi, dozens of people left hateful comments about her appearance, from calling her "fat" to saying that she "looks awful" to asking if she "ate the whole clinic" while she was in rehab.

Fat-shaming anyone is a shitty thing to do, but it's especially awful when the target is someone who has struggled with eating disorders. Demi has been candid about her struggles with disordered eating in the past, and she has been outspoken about the importance of body positivity on Instagram.
