How many of the brands in your makeup bag are testing on animals?
Anastasia Beverly Hills is cruelty free
According to Humane Society International, approximately 100,000-200,000 animals suffer and die each year for cosmetic animal testing. These animals include rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats and mice. Animal testing for cosmetics isn’t a legal requirement in most countries, meaning companies have the choice whether or not to take part.
By only purchasing products from cruelty-free companies you’ll help end unnecessary animal testing, while sending a powerful message to the companies that still test.
While there is no law requiring cosmetic products to be tested on animals in the UK and US , in countries like China animal testing is legally required for all foreign cosmetics companies. So, if a company choses to sell their products in China, they aren’t entirely cruelty-free. MAC, for example, doesn’t test on animals, but by importing their products to China they will be tested on animals by the government there. Cruelty-free (well, sort of) brands that sell in China include Mac, Benefit and Revlon.
The companies listed below are listed as part of Peta’s Beauty Without Bunnies campaign, which features a list of all the brands that do not test on animals.
All companies that are included on PETA’s cruelty-free list have signed PETA’s statement of assurance or submitted a statement verifying
that neither they nor their ingredient suppliers conduct, commission, or pay for any tests on animals for ingredients, formulations, or finished
