Lacy shorts are the new hottest male fashion item for the summer, thereby rendering rompers obselete

2017 has truly been a revelation. From rompers to fidget spinners, we are truly in the halcyon days of innovation and new developments. Most recently: lace shorts for men, the latest in fashion determined to fuck the binary.

While ACED design were revelling in the media furore that came with the romphim, the designers at Hologram City LA were waiting, patiently, to drop their contribution to breaking down the shackles of fashion gender norms with their honestly really fetching lace shorts for the boys.

The reaction has been so huge that the shorts have “become a fucking MEME” already, despite the fact that the pre-sale only launched today at 10am. They sell for just $49 – a small price to pay for such an avant-garde lewk – and if you really want to push the boundaries, you can match them with this lovely lace blouse from the same company.

Obviously some of the reaction to these shorts is as myopic as the fragile masculine backlash to the romper, and that seems unfair. Look how much the men in this picture are living for their pastel lace ensemble. They’re flipping their hair and teapotting better than Insta thots who have been doing it for years. They’re probably enjoying a cooler breeze than they’ve known before in their lives while looking completely colour co-ordinated. Why would anyone hate on this wholesome idea?

Like damn let men live.

Meanwhile, the people behind the male romper have raised over $360,000 and sold out of one design already. I’m so excited for men. What a fun summer you’re going to have. Throw away those jeans and embrace nu-homme fashion. It’s a brave new world.
