No, people can’t actually see when you screenshot their Instagrams

Cosmo just published an article explaining how to tell when someone screenshots your Instagram, and people are absolutely flipping out, but here’s the thing: It’s only for DMs.

Their latest update which makes it so you can send and receive time sensitive photos and videos — similar to Snapchat — has a new feature, and that alerts you when someone takes a screenshot.

Instagram doesn’t even alert when you screenshot someone else’s story at the moment.

And if you’re scrolling through your ex-best friend’s page and screenshot her latest gram to send down your group chat, you can rest easy knowing she won’t be alerted.

The day that feature exists is the day I delete my damn account.
