Kesha just released a single about the hell Dr. Luke put her through and it’s heartbreaking

‘Please just let me die, being alive hurts too much’

Throughout her ongoing legal battles with music producer Dr. Lukeincluding allegations of assault, abuse and a stint in rehab, Kesha voiced publicly that she felt scared and trapped in her contract with him.

But “this is just the beginning,” she told fans as she released her first single in four years.

Now she’s back and has channeled all that energy into the ultimate anthem against him and other abusers out there, with her song “Praying.”

“If I am alive, why. Why? If there is a god or whatever — something, somewhere. Why have I been abandoned by everyone and everything I’ve ever known? I’ve ever loved?” the video starts out.

“God give me a sign or I have to give up. I can’t do this anymore.”

‘Please just let me die. Being alive hurts too much’

“You almost had me fooled,” she goes on, “Told me that I was nothing without you.”

And yet through it all, she forgives him

“After everything you’ve done, I can thank you for how strong I have become. You brought the flames and you put me through hell, I had to learn how to fight for myself.”

‘I hope you’re somewhere praying, and I hope your soul is changing’

“I hope this song reaches people who are in the midst of struggles, to let them know that no matter how bad it seems now, you can get through it. If you have love and truth on your side, you will never be defeated,” she said in an interview. “Don’t give up on yourself.”

“I hope you find your peace, falling on your knees,” she sings.

You said that I was done, but you were wrong and now the best is yet to come

On February 9, 2016, Kesha broke down in a courtroom in front of a judge who denied her a preliminary injunction that would have allowed her to record outside of her contract with Luke.

And yet, her only message left is that she hopes Dr. Luke is learning and growing from this.
