Las Vegas shooter’s first choice target may have been a Lorde concert

It was the Life Is Beautiful music fest

Before committing the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history, the Las Vegas gunman who killed 59 people and counting at a concert on Sunday might have originally planned the attack for another festival.

According to senior law enforcement, shooter Stephen Paddock rented multiple rooms overlooking the Life Is Beautiful Festival in downtown Las Vegas, headlined by Chance the Rapper and Lorde.

An unnamed source not directly involved in the investigation has also confirmed.

Just a few days after the Life is Beautiful festival, on September 28, Police recovered 42 guns from Paddock's home and room at Mandalay Bay Hotel, overlooking the Route 91 Harvest Festival, where he shot into a crowd of 22,000 concertgoers.

“We're not in a position to confirm or deny anything about Mr. Paddock's dealings," Melissa Warren, public affairs officer for Fais Foley Warren, owner of the Ogden, told the Daily Beast. "This is an on going investigation.”

Paddock's motive remains unclear.
