This guy tricked a bunch of strangers into thinking they were getting dumped, and I feel bad for laughing so hard

The only thing harder than breaking up with someone is breaking up with someone you don't know, which Twitter user Mike Primavera learned the hard way.

Primavera, who has written for someecards, The Onion and Clickhole, decided to break up with a bunch of strangers via text as a way of "bettering himself."

It all started with him working through ways to boost his confidence, like, "Taking the stairs right next to everyone taking the elevator," "Eating more eggs" and finally getting rid of that pesky, non-existent SO in his life and breaking up with them.

'Text a random number, tell them you're breaking up with them'

'No responses yet, but I feel great'

Finally the responses are in, and people truly handled it differently.

Some really tried to lecture him about it

Providing him with "pro tips," reminding him if he's going to break up with someone he should at least get their number right.

"Wrong number. But kind of a shitty way to break up with someone."

"Don't do yo girl like that"

One hopeful girl tried to win him back

"Fuck the dishes. If you loved me you'd come over now."

Some were still reeling from the shock

A few were just really, really confused

"I'm not dating anyone."

"Who is this?"

"You must have gotten the wrong person."

And this person got really defensive about Stranger Things

"Not sure I said I don't like it."

One this person wasn't sure if they were dating

"You MIGHT have the wrong number."

And one poor guy actually thought his wife was leaving him

"Heidi?"

Luckily he didn't say "I agree" before the screenshots were posted to Twitter.

Some of these people had green texts so I might have broken up with them anyway, but you do have to feel bad for the poor souls who though this could actually be someone they care about on the other end.

I get sensitive about a guy putting a period at the end of his good night text, so this would have broken me.
