There’s an app for that
If you've been wondering how to take the fake disposable camera pictures that have been flooding your feed, don't worry — you're not alone.
The not-so-secret is a photo editing app called Huji Cam, and it's honestly gotten me back into using filters. It's the perfect tool for the photo-edit renaissance, and it's free. What's better than that? Here's how it works.
What is Huji?
It's a free app, available for iPhone and Android (we love versatility!) and it makes your regular-ass pictures look like they were taken on a bonafide disposable.
Each picture gets assigned certain light leaks, seemingly at random, and you can also add a timestamp on your photo if that's what you're into — either from 1998 or today's date. You can also pay 99 cents for some extras, like importing photos, but I think it's cooler to take them in-app.
Is it easy to use?
Fuck yeah! Plus, it's fun. The interface looks like a disposable camera, but you actually get to see the photos after you take them because it's still your phone, so you don't end up developing a shitload of dark pictures of your shoes.
Can I pass it off as an actual film photo?
Maybe if your followers are dumb, but a picture taken with Huji is pretty easy to recognize — at least, it is when you know what you're looking for. Happy snapping!
