White girls, watch out! These shrinkage-to-straightened hair reveals will have you running to a weave bundle

Oh Black girls don’t have hair, huh? Guess again

After calling quits on the perm game, I've been wearing my natural hair for over 4 years. I committed the deadly crime of the big chop—literally cutting off all my hair and now after what feels like a lifetime of hiding the true length of my locks under box braids (not boxer braids, Kim) and crochet braids, I discovered I had enough follicles to donate to Locks of Love.

There's always been a stigma that Black girls don't have the same kind of length that other races do. But that's just not true. Our Black genes force our natural hair to shrink up and coil. But when it's straight? Watch out.

So I'm here to put this rumor to rest with the most dramatic pics of the #shrinkageisreal movement. Let's comb out these kinks, shall we?

As a naturalista, blowouts are like Christmas for a Black girl because after weeks and months of protecting our hair from the cold brittle winter months, we're ready to let our natural curls run free and whip it back and forth.

Prior to straightening, naturally shrunk hair may not even reach our shoulders. But after the kinks and curls have calmed down after a shit ton of cocoa butter and monoi oil, our locks could touch our tits. Don't be fooled by the fro, ya'll. We just got it like that.
