Happy birthday to Ariana Grande, the only girl who can bring the entire world together while wearing heels

And make it look easy, breezy

On May 22, following a stop on Ariana Grande’s Dangerous Woman tour, a bomb detonated at the exit of Manchester Arena and what started as a magical evening for so many quickly spiraled into a nightmare.

Twenty-three adults and children were killed, 250 were injured and nobody would have blamed Grande if she never sang again.

But she did — 13 days later and in front of an audience of 50,000 people. Proceeds from the concert would go to help the victims and their families.

In the face of terrorism, this girl showed more grace and dignity than our own president.

Selfless in pushing aside her own traumas associated with the attack, she got on stage and sang a song people everywhere were slamming hew for. A female pop star, how could she have anything to offer to mend the hearts of the families of the victims? Until we found out she’d sang it as a favor to one of the victim’s mother’s. “Olivia would have wanted to hear it,” she’d told Ariana.

Time after time, this girl has proven people wrong — and yet, as a girl, she’ll have to do it time and time again.

From celebrating Pride to announcing her dog’s birthday before her own, she is an unbreakable woman with a heart of gold and deserves every single good thing that comes her way today and every day.

If she did all that in year 23, we can’t wait to see what she does in 24.

And what’s best? We know she’ll do it all in heels.
