Heidi Montag says she momentarily DIED in the operating room during those dozens of plastic surgeries

We all know the face and hot body of The Hill's Heidi Montag is not quite the one God gave her. Aesthetics and poorly-chosen husbands aside, though, Heidi's Hollywood-fueled obsession with plastic perfection almost killed her. Well, not even almost.

Montag revealed in an interview with Paper Magazine that during one of her many surgeries, her heart briefly stopped beating completely, leaving her technically dead for one whole minute.

"I had to have 24-hour nurse care and Spencer didn't want to leave my side," Heidi explained, adding that she was prescribed Demerol, one of the most powerful opioids available and the drug that killed Michael Jackson. "Spencer thought he lost me."

Heidi's assorted surgeries have made headlines for years. The Hills alumnae initially told her mother about how much she loved her dramatically altered face on the MTV show, resulting in a much-memed clip of her asking if she looked good:

Now, Heidi's speaking out on how her compulsive surgeries negatively affected and nearly ended her life, with husband Spencer Pratt still by her side. "I became consumed by this character I was playing," she explained in a video interview to mark The Hills' 10th anniversary. "I lost myself."

These days, Heidi's doing well. She's a mother, a social media star, and shiller of spon-con. But most importantly, she's doing better than Audrina.
