I don't know if times are tough over at One World Trade Center or what, but Anna Wintour seems hellbent on always inviting the worst-dressed celebrities to the Met Gala. And like, I know it's for a good cause (making a rich museum richer, duh!) but can everyone at least try to dress on-theme?

Katy Perry
I don't think I'll ever understand Katy Perry, and I'm going to stop trying starting today. The Met Gala is literally the event where you're encouraged to do the absolute absolute most, but she still managed to look like a Final Fantasy cosplayer trying waaaay too hard.
Selena Gomez
We don't know why Sel was wearing a themeless maternity dress…unless there's something she's trying to tell us. But what we do know is that her makeup artist clearly hates her:
Some called Blackface (I think they're trolling, but idk). Personally, I think her tan is more inspired by the President than my skinfolk, but to each their own.
Shailene Woodley
While both Shailene and Zendaya chose to dress as Joan of Arc, all I can see is the damn Tin Man — even her facial expressions were mechanic. Girl, smile! You get to work with Meryl Streep!
Yara Shahidi
As much as I love and adore Yara, she looks like a literal chastity belt. My guess is she just said "fuck it" and threw on a bodysuit like every contestant on Drag Race/drunk girl dressing for the bar. Love the church hat though, girl. Amen to that extra touch.
Kendall Jenner
Soooo, Kendall wore white and this…ensemble isn't full-on ugly until you get to the feet. Sadly, no one on her team told her this was the Met Gala and not AMC movie night. The hooves on this jumpsuit came straight out of The Saddle Club and I'm not here for it. What are top models even good for if they can't do it up?
